PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department is seeking an outstanding professional who is enthusiastic, passionate about their field and has a strong desire to help students succeed.
TEACHING: will develop and teach undergraduate exercise science and health promotion content courses. These courses may include exercise physiology, kinesiology, worksite health promotion, program planning, lifetime fitness and wellness, care and prevention of athletic injuries and the supervision of internships; may also be asked to teach in the General Education Core course curriculum. ADVISING: will advise undergraduate Health Promotion majors with Fitness Management or Wellness Management areas of Concentration. SERVICE: will include participation in department activities; service on university committees; participation in the life of the University; involvement with professional organizations; and engagement in community service. The Health Promotion major is reflective of Grand View University’s mission…developing the total person – mind, body and spirit. The academic major offers a distinct learning experience that prepares students to help individuals/organizations change and embrace wellness as a lifestyle.
