Job Description
AAHPERD invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The AAHPERD CEO serves as chief administrative/operating officer of the Alliance. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing the work of the Alliance through initiative, leadership, and liaison between and among the AAHPERD elected officers, Executive Commmittee, Board of Governors, national and district associations, committees, and staff.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership, representing the Alliance at conferences and professional meetings, fiscal responsibility, performance of headquarters staff, and providing general direction and guidance over policies, programs and activities which are designed to achieve the goals of the Alliance.

Requirements
Qualifications:

*An earned doctorate (or equivalent professional experience) *Five years of managerial and administrative experience in planning, supervision, and fiscal management *Five years of executive level administrative experience *Successful experience in external resource fundraising and development *Excellent interpersonal and communication skills *A high standard of professional integrity *Leadership ability in supervising a diverse 80-member staff *Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and work cooperatively with elected volunteer leaders *Commitment to social justice and diversity *Ability to maintain and promote positive relationships with liaison organizations *An understanding of the HPERD professions and AAHPERD
